PRAM RACE 2010

This year there will be two categories in the pram race, an extreme category for the serious racers and a fun category for the more relaxed entrants. Both races will start on the field and will have four way points where they will have to stop and pick up four items from the stewards and follow the instructions before continuing. The extreme race will go through the village and return to the field for the finish, the fun race will take place entirely within the area of the funday fields and at no stage will be on the public highway. 

The winner of the Extreme race will recieve the Funday Shield and a box of beer or a cash alternative and the winner of the fun race will receive a box of chocolates.

There is a prize for the best fancy dress in the race, the prize is £20.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1.     All entries to be submitted by Thursday 22^rd July 2010 to Dyffryn Ardudwy Fun Day Committee c/o Judith Hughes, Ty Benar, Ffordd Benar, Dyffryn Ardudwy, Gwynedd. LL44 2RX (01341 247665).  Entries submitted after this date will not be allowed to compete if numbers considered too high.

2.     Entry fees are £10 per team for the extreme race and £5 per team for the fun race. An entry form must be completed with the team name, the names of all the team members with their names and addresses and contact telephone number. Please include date of birth if under 18.  The entry form must be signed by the team captain to agree to abide to these conditions.  The team captain must be over 18.

3.     All racers are in the best-dressed category for judging, there is a £20 prize in this category.  There is a trophy for the fastest team to keep for one year and a box of beer*.  A prize will be given for the best-dressed team.

4.     All entries are based on a pram chassis or similar pedestrian propelled vehicle.  Designs not suitable for a family day will not be allowed.  Adjudicators decision regarding suitability of entry on the day will be final. 

5.     All entries should meet by the stage at the fun day field at 1pm for booking in and judging.  The race will commence at 1.30pm.

6.     All entrants must conform with instructions at each race station. The race will be considered over at 3.30pm and prizes will be awarded ASAP. 

7.     Prams left on the field or along the route must be removed by 7pm the following day, otherwise a charitable penalty of £10 will be charged for the disposal after this time!!

8.     Entrants are liable for any personal injury or property damage caused in the event of an accident. No claims can be entertained for anything that may happen to entrants, onlookers their property or servants in connection to the event.  It shall be considered a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the organisers against any legal action arising from such occurrence.  Behaviour after the event should be such that it is not prejudicial to the event in future years.
